The Meriden Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO), the City of Meriden Office of Economic and Community Development and the Midstate Chamber of Commerce will hold a (joint) series of strategic planning events during the spring 2024.  The purpose of the event is to begin the development of an economic development strategy for the City and MEDCO for the next 3-5 years.  The participants will include business leaders, business owners, Midstate Chamber members, City Council members, the City Manager, MEDCO and City Board/Commission members.

This first event will be held on April 2, 2024 and will introduce four strategic tracks that will help shape the future of economic growth in the City. Economic Development professionals will facilitate a collaborative process with the participants to develop a frame work to continue the City’s successful economic development efforts. 

The series will include a professional panel on the following strategic topics:
•    April 25th: The Economic Development Market Place
•    May 23rd:  Key Opportunities and Challenges in Meriden
•    June 5th:   Funding Opportunity and Strategies
•    June 27th: Business Attraction, Retention, Expansion (BRE) and Business Creation
